Harold G. Christensen was the 23rd Deputy Attorney General of the United States. He was nominated to the Department’s second-ranking post by President Ronald Reagan on May 24, 1988, and confirmed by the United States Senate on October 4, 1988. Mr. Christensen served as Deputy Attorney General until June 1, 1989.

At the time of his nomination, Mr. Christensen was chairman of the board of directors of Snow, Christensen & Martineau, a prominent Salt Lake City law firm that he joined in 1953.

During his career in private practice, Mr. Christensen was active in many associations and committees, including: fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and state chairman, 1986 and 1987; member of the ad hoc committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States on American Inns of Court, 1984-1986; charter president of the American Inns of Court I, 1980; and president of the Utah State Bar, 1975-1976.

A native of Utah, Mr. Christensen graduated from the University of Utah (A.B., 1949) and the University of Michigan (J.D., 1951).
