“Earlier today, Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor announced her retirement from the Supreme Court of the United States. Her twenty-four historic years on the bench were marked by a profound commitment to justice in every case. Justice O’Connor has been a role model for a generation of young lawyers. Together with all Americans, I thank Justice O’Connor for her dedicated and distinguished public service. She will long be honored in the history of our Nation.”
