Client / Attorney Dispute(s) Resolution
The Victim Compensation Fund and the Special Master cannot resolve disputes between claimants and their attorneys. The Air Transportation Safety and System Act (Public Law 107 – 42) does not provide for payment of legal or other fees by the Fund, and the regulations do not impose any limits on the types or amount of the fees that claimants may pay their attorneys or others providing assistance.

Claimants can file grievances against attorneys by filing complaints with their state bar association. Associations typically have a standing ethics or a discipline / grievance committee to hear the grievance and resolve it in a way that is fair to both the claimant and the attorney.
