proposed Final
Judgment has been
filed in a civil
antitrust case,
United States v.
Alcan Inc., Alcan Aluminum Corp.,
Pechiney, S.A., and Pechiney
Rolled Products, LLC, Civil Action
No. 1:03CV02012. On September 29,
2003, the United States filed a
Complaint alleging that Alcan's
acquisition of Pechiney would
violate section 7 of the Clayton
Act, IS U.S.C. §18. The proposed
Final Judgment, filed at the same
time as the Complaint, requires
Alcan to divest Pechiney's Brazing
Sheet Business, including
Pechiney's aluminum rolling mill
located in Ravenswood, West
Virginia. A Competitive Impact
Statement filed by the United
States describes the Complaint,
proposed Final Judgment, Hold
Separate Stipulation and Order,
the industry, and the remedies
available to private litigants who
may have been injured by the
alleged violations. Copies of the
Complaint, proposed Final
Judgment, Hold Separate
Stipulation and Order, and
Competitive Impact Statement are
