Gartner Research HRMS Magic Quadrant (As of October 2002)

Square divided into four sections categorizing companies as Challengers, Leaders, Niche Players, and Visionaries. The left side of the square contain an arrow pointing up with the words: "Ability to Execute". The bottom of the square has an arrow pointing right with the words: "Completeness of Vision".

Each section contains names of companies. The companies are situated at different horizontal and vertical levels within each section.

1. Top left section. Category: Challengers. Contains only one company - Lawson. Lawson is situated at the bottom right corner of the section (approximately 95% down from the top and 95% right of the left margin).

2. Top right section. Category: Leaders. Contains three companies - PeopleSoft, SAP, and Oracle. Peoplesoft is situated approximately a third of the way down from the top of the section and approximately 55% right of the left margin. SAP is situated approximately 48% down from the top and 33% right of the left margin. Oracle is situated almost in the middle of the section, approximately 50% dowm from the top and 50% right of the left margin.

3. Bottom left section. Category: Niche Players. Contains three companies - Ultimate Software, J.D. Edwards, and Cyborg. Ultimate Software is situated approximately 10% down from the top and 40% right of the left margin. J.D. Edwards is situated approximately 30% down from the top and 55% right of the left margin. Cyborg is situated approximately 70% down from the top and 50% right of the left margin.

4. Bottom right section. Category: Visionaries. Contains one company - Meta4. Meta4 is situated approximately 80% down from the top and 10% right of the left margin.
