On May 4, 2015, Mahin Quintero was sentenced, in a 5K1.1 downward departure, to two years of probation and was ordered to pay a fine of $1,000. Quintero pleaded guilty on April 12, 2012, to one count of producing a false authentication feature, a misdemeanor charged in an April 2012 information. The charges stem from her role in a $20 million scheme to fraudulently gain control of condominium homeowner associations (HOAs) in the Las Vegas area so that the HOAs would direct business to a certain law firm and a certain construction company.
