Capital District Task Force Nabs Three

MAY 7 -- (Albany, NY) JOHN P. GILBRIDE, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the New York Office of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration ("DEA") announced the arrest of three men who are charged with various drug charges after a several month investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Capital District Drug Enforcement Task Force

Joseph Bongiorno, age 45 of 151 West Mountain Road in Queensbury was arrested for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, a Class A-1 felony for selling over two ounces of Cocaine in the Town of Queensbury. A Search Warrant was executed at Bongiorno’s residence and over a half an ounce of cocaine was seized.

Jason Strainer, age 26 of 299 Spraguetown Rd. in Greenwich was arrested for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree, an A-II felony for selling over a half an ounce of Cocaine in the Town of Queensbury

Pawel L. Moroz, age 25 of # 5 Harrison Ave in South Glens Falls was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, with the intent to sell, a Class B felony. Moroz was in possession of over 2 ounces of Cocaine.

During the execution of the Search Warrant and the arrests, police seized over 6 ounces of cocaine, approx $3000.00 in cash, a 4-wheeler and a 2002 Mercedes Benz. Two other motor vehicles were impounded for possible future seizure. The investigation is ongoing against the three defendants with more arrests expected.

All three defendants were held at the Warren Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Queensbury Town Court.

The New York State Police, New York State Division of Parole and Immigration and Customs Enforcement assisted in the operation on Tuesday, May 6, 2007.
