Muscatine, Iowa Man Sentenced to 151 months Imprisonment for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

MAY 9 -- (Davenport,IA) - On May 5, 2008, Victor Manuel MARIN, 41, was sentenced to 151 months imprisonment, having previously pled to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Marin to serve five years on supervised release following imprisonment, and an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.

On six occasions between March 1, 2007 and March 20, 2007, Marin sold methamphetamine to an undercover agent. The total amount of methamphetamine distributed during this conspiracy was 634.15 grams of methamphetamine.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Bettendorf Police Department, Muscatine Police Department, Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department, Davenport Police Department, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Division of Narcotics Enforcement. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa prosecuted the case.
