Georgia
Atlanta DO
- The SAC of the AFD will engage in a one on one interview about the red ribbon campaign with a reporter from WSB talk radio (AM 750) on or about October 11, 2007. This interview is part of a multi-segment series. About a month ago, the same reporter interviewed the SAC relating to the changing dynamics of the Atlanta drug market and the surge of Indoor Hydroponics Marijuana Grows in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 1,200 students at Chapel Hill Middle School in Douglasville, GA. on October 22, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 600 students at Cook Elementary School in Atlanta, GA. on October 23, 2007. (Airwing may assist at this program).
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 1,000 students at Cross Keys High School in Douglasville, GA. on October 23, 2007. (Airwing may assist at this program).
- Members of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 580 seventh and eighth graders at the Woodward Academy Main campus in College Park, GA. on October 24, 2007.
- Members of the Atlanta Airwing Unit will conduct a red ribbon presentation for 1000 students at St. Francis School on October 24, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 750 students at Indian Creek Elementary School in Decatur, GA. on October 24, 2007. (Airwing may assist at this program).
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 30 Public Safety students at McKeachern High School. After the first presentation, a presentation will be given to 45 students attending the SADD after-school program. Later the same evening, a member of the Atlanta DO will be part of a community-wide Red Ribbon/Meet and Greet event in Powder Springs, GA. Approximately 100 attendees are expected to be present.

program for 800 students at Tilson Elementary School on October 26, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta Airwing Unit will conduct a red ribbon presentation for 600 students at Sixes Elementary School on October 26, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a red ribbon program for 1,500 students at
Campbell High School in Smyrna, GA. on October 26, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a red ribbon program for 430 students at
Miller Grove Elementary School in Atlanta, GA. on October 26, 2007. (Airwing may assist at this program).
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a red ribbon program for 2,500 students at
Southwest DeKalb High School on October 29, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a red ribbon program for 2,500 students at
Southwest DeKalb High School on October 29, 2007.
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a Red Ribbon program for 410 students at Atherton Elementary School in Decatur, GA. on October 29, 2007. (Airwing may assist at this program).
- A member of the Atlanta DO will conduct a red ribbon program for 2,500 students at
Martin L. King, Jr. High School on October 30, 2007.
- Members of the Atlanta DO, with the assistance of Airwing, will engage in a Red/Ribbon Race Against Drugs Essay/Poster Contest Awards Assembly for 1,300 students at Tucker Middle School on October 30, 2007. Media coverage (Channel 11-WXIA) will be present at the event and will run exclusive coverage.
October 23th-31st
In addition to the several speaking engagements that are set up for Red Ribbon Week, the Atlanta offices have secured the support of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in recognizing this year’s celebration of Red Ribbon Week. The Georgia DOT has agreed to provide several Variable Message Boards that will announce Red Ribbon Week to passing motorists. These message boards are located over expressways and are used to give motorists Amber Alerts, traffic advisories, and terrorist alert warnings.
Hundreds of thousands of motorists will be made aware of Red Ribbon Week through these Message Boards.
The Atlanta Division office will be working with a middle school on a huge “Race Against Drugs”/Red Ribbon Rally Awards Assembly for winners of the Red Ribbon essay/poster contests.
Macon RO
- A member of the Macon RO will conduct a Red Ribbon program to 1,000 students, including 6th, 7th and 8th graders, teachers and parents at Miller Middle School, in Macon, GA. on October 22.
- Members of the Macon RO will conduct a red ribbon program for 300 fourth and fifth grade students at T.G. Scott Elementary, in Forsyth, GA. on October 26.
Savannah RO
- Members of the Savannah RO will participate in a National Red Ribbon Week and the Border Tying event in Port Wentworth, GA. on October 23, 2007. This event will stress the importance of working across county lines and state lines to produce results in the war on drugs.
North Carolina
Charlotte DO
- Members of the Charlotte DO are conducting red ribbon presentations in Waxhaw, NC at area elementary schools.
- Members of the Charlotte DO are conducting red ribbon presentations for students at
a Weddington, NC high school.
Raleigh RO
- Members of the Raleigh RO are conducting red ribbon presentations for students at a Wilson, NC middle school.
Greensboro RO
- Members of the Greensboro RO are conducting red ribbon presentations for students at Oak Ridge High School.
Wilmington RO
- Members of the Wilmington RO are conducting red ribbon presentations for students at Dickson High School and several other area schools.
Tennessee
Nashville DO
- Members of the Nashville DO, to include the ASAC and GS’s, will meet with Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen and receive a state Proclamation for Red Ribbon Week.
- Members of the Nashville DO will speak to and hand out red ribbons at various schools in middle Tennessee.
South Carolina
Agents, officers and other personnel in various South Carolina offices are in the process of scheduling red ribbon events.
