The Europe and Africa
Region consists of 16 DEA Country/Resident Offices located in Switzerland,
Germany, Belgium, Egypt, Denmark,
Nigeria, England, Spain, France, South Africa, Italy, Netherlands,
Austria, and Poland
DEA offices in this region are combating the aggressive methods
of operations used by the various regional drug trafficking organizations
(DTO) as well as evolving drug trafficking patterns, to include
the influx of ecstasy in Europe and the U.S., the movement of opiates
transiting the Middle East for production into heroin, and multi-ton
shipments of cocaine from South America in containerized shipments
going to Europe or Africa.
