DEA “Agent
of the Year" to be Recognized
2005 Association of Former Federal
Narcotics Agents Presents Award
(Newport,
RI)-On October 13th, the Association of Former Federal Narcotics
Agents (AFFNA) will present the “Agent of the Year” award
to Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent Joseph Benson,
a Criminal Investigator with the Bridgeport Resident Office HIDTA
Task Force. Special Agent Benson has been responsible for initiating
four of the five priority target cases his office has investigated.
In
addition to the award presentation, Boston Division Special Agent
in Charge June Stansbury will be presented with a bust of Kiki Camerena,
the fallen agent who is honored each October during “Red Ribbon
Week.”
DEA
Deputy Administrator, Michele Leonhart, will be present to update
retired DEA Special Agents about recent DEA accomplishments and the
current drug enforcement climate.
*AFFNA
will also donate $5,000 to the DEA Survivors Benefit Fund.
