Danbury Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Crack and Cocaine
Distribution Charge

June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that JUAN GENAO, age 25, formerly of 7 Fairfield Ridge Road, Danbury, Connecticut, pleaded guilty yesterday, May 24, before United States District Judge Janet C. Hall in Bridgeport to a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, crack and powder cocaine.

On January 20, 2006, GENAO, was arrested in Bridgeport by members of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Danbury Police Department. The arrest followed a year-long investigation of crack and powder cocaine sales in the Danbury area. During the investigation, GENAO was involved in controlled purchases of more than 50 grams of crack cocaine.

Judge Hall has scheduled sentencing for August 21, 2006, at which time GENAO faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Danbury Police Department.
