Meriden Woman Sentenced to 18 Months for Distributing Crack

JUN 18 -- June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that FLORENCE SABATUCCI, age 41, of 525 Crown Street, Meriden, Connecticut, was sentenced today by Senior United States District Judge Peter C. Dorsey in New Haven to 18 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for engaging in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine base (“crack cocaine”). SABATUCCI pleaded guilty to the charge on March 30, 2007, admitting that she distributed between five and 20 grams of crack cocaine to others in Meriden.

On October 4, 2006, a federal grand jury returned an Indictment charging SABATUCCI and several other individuals with various narcotics offenses involving the distribution of cocaine and crack cocaine in and around Meriden. SABATUCCI, who has been released on bond since her arrest on October 6, 2006, was ordered to surrender to the federal Bureau of Prisons on July 30, 2007.

This investigation was a collaborative effort of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Meriden Police Department.
