Two New Britain Men Indicated On Federal Marijuana Charges

JUL 12 -- June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that a federal grand jury in Hartford has returned an Indictment charging KHA QUACH, age 28, and TUAN BUI, age 21, both of 225 Layton Lane, New Britain, Connecticut with manufacturing and possession with intent to distribute 100 or more marijuana plants, conspiracy to manufacture and possess with intent to distribute 100 or more marijuana plants, and maintaining a drug-involved premises. The Indictment was returned yesterday, July 11.

If convicted of the charges, each defendant faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years, a maximum term of imprisonment of 60 years, and fines of up to $2,500,000.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the New Britain Police Department.
