Waterbury Man Sentenced to More Than 15 Years in Federal
Prison for Dealing Cocaine

SEP 12 -- June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that SHAUN TELLADO, age 27, of Waterbury, Connecticut, was sentenced yesterday, September 10, by United States District Judge Mark R. Kravitz in New Haven to 188 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. TELLADO pleaded guilty to the charge on May 4, 2007.
On October 4, 2006, a federal grand jury returned an Indictment charging TELLADO and several other individuals with various narcotics offenses involving the distribution of cocaine and crack cocaine in central Connecticut.

Under federal sentencing guidelines, TELLADO was designated a career offender as he previously had been convicted of at least two felonies that were either a crime of violence or a controlled substance offense. TELLADO had been convicted in Connecticut Superior Court of assault in the second degree and sale of narcotics.

This investigation was a collaborative effort of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Waterbury Police Department and the Meriden Police Department.
