Hartford Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Crack Cocaine Charge

SEP 26 --June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcment Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that ERIC D. COX, also known as “Chaos,” age 24, of James Street, Hartford, pleaded guilty today before Senior United States District Judge Ellen Bree Burns in New Haven to one count of possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base (“crack” cocaine).

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, on June 10, 2006, COX possessed 9.3 grams of crack cocaine.

Judge Burns has scheduled sentencing for December 13, 2007, at which time COX faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years, a maximum term of 40 years, and a fine of up to $2,000,000.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hartford Police Department.
