Hartford Cocaine Dealer Sentenced to
70 Months in Federal Prison

NOV 6 --  June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that JUAN FELIX COLLADO, age 29, of 45 Webster Street, Hartford, was sentenced on Friday, November 3, by United States District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven to 70 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release.  On July 5, 2006, COLLADO pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, on December 14, 2005, Drug Enforcement Administration agents executed a search warrant at COLLADO’s Hartford residence.  In COLLADO’s bedroom, agents located approximately two kilograms of cocaine along with a strainer, knife, scale and grinder, all of which contained cocaine residue, and numerous plastic baggies.  Agents also located two loaded handguns in a dresser drawer to the left of the COLLADO’s bed.

This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hartford Police Department.
