Five Men Charged with Cocaine Trafficking

DEC 11 -- SPRINGFIELD, MA - Five men were charged today in federal court with Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Distribution of Cocaine.

June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration - New England Field Division, and United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan announced today that LAPRESE GOLLMAN, age 32, of Springfield, SARAIL ARCHILLA, age 35, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, ELIAS MADERA, age 37, of Springfield, RODDRICK GANIOUS, age 28, of Springfield, and LAMAR SAMUELS, age 31, of Worcester, were charged in a five count indictment with Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Distribution of Cocaine.

The indictment alleges that from February 2006 through September 2006, the five men bought and sold large quantities of powder cocaine in the Springfield area for later distribution to lower-level sellers.

If convicted on these charges, GOLLMAN, ARCHILLA, MADERA, GANIOUS, AND SAMUELS face up to life imprisonment, to be followed by eight years of supervised release, and a $ 4,000,000 fine.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
