friendly page] Two Western Indiana Men Plead Guilty To Methamphetamine Trafficking MAR 14 -- (Terre Haute, IN) - Two Western Indiana men have plead guilty in federal court to charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Based on their guilty pleas, Shaun R. Clark, 27, of Brazil, Indiana, and JASON B. Swearingen, 33, of Mansfield, Indiana, were sentenced on March 13, 2008, by U.S. District Judge Larry J. McKinney. Clark received a sentence of 188 months imprisonment, and Swearingen was sentenced to 87 months. In addition, Judge McKinney imposed three years supervised release following their release. As part of their supervised release, both defendants will also be subjected to random searches of their persons, vehicles, and residences. The sentencing of Clark and Swearingen is the result of a nine-month investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Metro Drug Task Force, Beech Grove Police Department, Indianapolis Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Vigo County Drug Task Force, and Clay County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation revealed that Clark and Swearingen were distributors for a methamphetamine trafficking organization that distributed methamphetamine along the I-70 corridor running from Indianapolis to Terre Haute. The organization distributed over 40 pounds of methamphetamine per month from May, 2005 through January, 2006. “DEA’s partnership with the state and local police departments in Indiana has been a success taking drugs off the street,” stated Gary G. Olenkiewicz, the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA’s Chicago Field Division which covers the state of Indiana. “The guilty pleas and sentencing of Clark and Swearingen is another example of drug law enforcement’s diligent work and cooperative efforts.” The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bradley A.
