The joint law enforcement investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force which includes the Dyer, East Chicago, Gary, Griffith, Hammond, Merrillville, Munster, Schererville Police Departments, and the DEA. The seized funds from this investigation, if forfeited, will be shared with the participating police agencies to be used for law enforcement purposes in their communities.”

Prosecution of this investigation is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Nozick.

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by a federal judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. If convicted, the defendants face not less than 10 years and up to life in prison.
