DEA Dallas hosts the 2005 Metroplex Law Enforcement
Explorers Competition in Richardson, Texas

On April 2, 2005, seventeen DEA Dallas Field Division Special Agents and Task Force Officers hosted the Arrest and Search scenario in the 2005 Metroplex Law Enforcement Explorers Competition held in Richardson, Texas at the University of Texas at Dallas. This year, forty-four Law Enforcement Explorer posts competed in the event including posts from Tulsa, Oklahoma, St. Charles, Louisiana and Panama City, Florida. Dallas Field Division Special Agent in Charge Gary Olenkiewicz visited all competition venues and spoke with competing explorers in the Arrest and Search scenario, their advisors and spent time with the role players. Feedback from the competing explorers and their advisors indicated that DEA’s scenario is one they favor and practice repeatedly prior to competition.
