friendly page] Louisville Drug Dealer Sentenced to 3 Years and JAN 7 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Tyson Jeremiah Rainey, age 20, of 117 North 39th Street, Louisville, Kentucky, in Jefferson County, was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months imprisonment in United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky, for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. Charles R. Simpson, III, Judge, United States District Court, also sentenced Rainey to 4 years supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system. Rainey pled guilty and admitted that on or about April 11, 2007, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, he knowingly conspired with others to knowingly and intentionally possess with the intent to distribute fifteen grams of crack cocaine, worth at least $1500 on the street. On April 11, 2007, DEA Agents, along with LMPD Officers, executed a search warrant at a residence located at 516 Compton Street, in Louisville, Kentucky. As agents approached the residence, they observed Rainey run from the property. He was apprehended five blocks from the residence and immediately brought back to the residence. Rainey admitted that he went to the residence to purchase 1/2 ounce of crack cocaine for further distribution. Approximately 2258 grams of crack cocaine, worth approximately $226,000 on the street, was found in the residence hidden in the basement sink. Additionally, Aubrey Walker and Andre Gipp were arrested. Walker and Gipp were charged separately, and the case is still pending in United States District Court at this time. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel P. Kinnicutt, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Louisville Metro Police Department, and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department. ###
