March 30 --National Women’s History Month was celebrated by the employees of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Detroit Field Division and other law enforcement leaders and employees in the community. The celebration theme was “Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams”. In accordance with this theme, DEA Detroit was fortunate to have Director of the Golightly Career and Technical Center in Detroit, Dr. Laura R. Royster, Ed.D., attend as guest speaker. Dr. Royster delivered an inspirational speech which exemplified her strong beliefs in the importance of career and technical education and making dreams come true. For the past 37 years, Dr. Royster, a visionary leader, has been committed to the preparation of high school students for job readiness as well as higher education.

During the celebration, invocation was presented by Reverend Peter S. Nickel, Reverend of The Huntington Woods Lutheran Church and Chaplain for the Michigan State Police. The Cass Technical High School Madrigals Chorus directed by Dr. Cheryl V. Harden also delivered several outstanding performances.
