Caldwell County Man Indicted On Methamphetamine Conspiracy and Distribution Charges

MAY 9 -- (Paducah, KY) - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment on February 20, 2008, against Brandon James Moman, age 27, of 1413 Hopkinsville Street, Princeton, Kentucky in Caldwell County, on charges of conspiring with persons known and unknown to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine and possessing 5 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

The Indictment alleges that from in or about and between the beginning of March 2006 and March 30, 2006, Moman knowingly and intentionally conspired with persons known and unknown to the Grand Jury to possess with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. The Indictment also alleges that on or about March 30, 2006, Moman possessed with the intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky and elsewhere. The drugs recovered in this case by law enforcement have a street value of $5,000.00.

In the event of a conviction, the combined maximum potential penalties are 80 years imprisonment, a $4,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of at least 4 years and up to any number of years including life; and the minimum potential penalties are 5 years imprisonment, a $2,000,000 fine, and at least 4 years supervised release.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michele Thielhorn, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Kentucky State Police, and the Madisonville Police Department.
