Louisville Man Pleads Guilty In Connection With Drug Conspiracy
– Investigation nets over 20 grams of crack cocaine

OCT 31 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - Donald E. Bell, Jr., age 25, of 4206 Winrose Way, Louisville, Kentucky in Jefferson County, pled guilty to drug conspiracy and trafficking charges, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.

Bell admitted that on July 26, 2006, he conspired with another man to possess with the intent to distribute 20.8 grams of a substance containing cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine. On that same date, Bell also admitted that he knowingly possessed with the intent to distribute approximately 20.8 grams of a substance containing cocaine base. The street value of the crack cocaine involved in the case is $900.00.

The maximum potential penalties are 80 years imprisonment, a $4,000,000.00 fine, and supervised release for a period of life; and the minimum potential penalties are 5 years imprisonment and supervised release for a period of 5 years.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas W. Dyke, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Bell entered his plea before Jennifer B. Coffman, Chief Judge, United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky.

Bell is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Coffman on February 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
