The abuse of prescription drugs to get “high” is a growing trend among teens and young adults. The abuse of prescription pain killers such as hydrocodone now ranks second – only behind marijuana - as the nation’s most prevalent drug problem. Join other concerned community members as they discover what is behind this devastating trend and what can be done to prevent it. The conference will cover topics such as: 1) the types of prescription drugs abused by teens; 2) the availability of prescription drugs in schools and over the internet; 3) signs and symptoms of abuse; costs associated with abuse in the community; 4) what you can do to address the issue in the community.
