Brazilian Delegation Visit the New York Field Division

DEC 4 -- On December 4, 2006 a delegation of Brazilian law enforcement representatives was welcomed by Special Agent in Charge John P. Gilbride to New York City.

SAC Gilbride hosted the Brazilian prosecutors and investigators who were visiting the New York Field Division and learning how the DEA collaborates on efforts to eradicate international drug organizations. This group focused on learning about the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force (NYDETF) as well as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Strike Force. They toured the NYDETF and observed how each of the Task Force groups was comprised of DEA Special Agents, New York Police Department Detectives and New York State Police Investigators. Lastly, the delegation was briefed on Airport Interdiction Techniques and Trends in Trafficking and Concealment Techniques.
