Three California Marijuana Distribution Centers Shut Down
Marijuana; Money seized in San Mateo Operations

AUG 30 -- (SAN MATEO, CA) - Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Javier F. Peña and San Mateo Police Chief Susan Manheimer announce the execution of multiple federal search warrants upon three marijuana distribution centers in San Mateo, California.  Documents relating to the investigations remain under court seal.  All search warrants were served without incident.

“DEA will continue to work with our counterparts in law enforcement to take the illicit profits, proceeds and marijuana generated by these drug trafficking organizations” stated DEA Special Agent in Charge Javier F. Peña.

The San Mateo warrants were the result of 9 month long investigation conducted by the DEA San Francisco Office and the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force (SMCNTF).  Searches in relation to this investigation were conducted at three marijuana distribution centers located in San Mateo.  As a result of today’s search, law enforcement seized fifty (50) pounds of processed marijuana, hash, marijuana laced edibles, and approximately $30,000.00 US Currency.

San Mateo Police Chief Manheimer stated “The actions taken today in San Mateo are a part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by DEA. It is apparent that illegal operations within San Mateo will be shut down and the property owners held accountable and liable.”

Mark Wyss, Commander of the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force stated, “The combined effort between federal and local law enforcement into the investigation of these illegal marijuana distribution centers is an excellent example of the on-going collaborative effort involved in enforcing drug laws in the County of San Mateo.”

Following today’s enforcement operation property owners where the San Mateo marijuana distribution centers conducted business were notified about the illegal activity occurring on their premises.  By this notice, the owners are made aware of the purpose for which the property is being used and that further violations may result in criminal prosecution, imprisonment, fines and forfeiture of assets. 

Today’s enforcement operation was conducted by the DEA with assistance from San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force and the San Mateo Police Department.
