Fairbanks Man Sentenced to Eight-And-A-Half Years
In Federal Prison for Cocaine Possession with Intent to Distribute

Fairbanks, Alaska –United States Attorney Nelson P. Cohen announced that on February 9, 2007,
that Teffin Goss, II, a resident of Fairbanks, Alaska, was sentenced in federal court in Fairbanks to 104
months in prison on his conviction of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Chief United States District Court Judge John W. Sedwick imposed the sentence on Goss, age 25,
who resides at 2014 Sandvic Street in Fairbanks.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Bryan
Schroder, Goss was stopped in a rental car by a University of Fairbanks Police officer on April 15, 2006.The officer discovered 24.5 grams of crack cocaine in the vehicle.

Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Sedwick observed that distribution of cocaine base (crack
cocaine) is a serious crime, leading to societal problems such as health issues with babies born to crack cocaine users and violent crimes committed by users to obtain the drug. He also noted that instead of using his past contacts with the law as a basis for reform, Goss used them to refine his technique.

Mr. Cohen commended the University of Fairbanks Police Department, the Alaska State Troopers,
and the Drug Enforcement Administration for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of
Goss.
