Jury Finds
Anchorage
Man Guilty
Of Drug
Conspiracy, MAY 31 -- (SEATTLE) – The DEA’s Seattle Field Division announced that after deliberating for five hours, a jury of four men and eight women found Brando Hall guilty late last week of one count of drug conspiracy, one count of attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and one count of maintaining a drug involved premises. Hall, age 31, of 1105 West 34th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska, was tried before United States District Court Judge Timothy M. Burgess in Anchorage. Evidence presented at trial established that the Pasadena Police Department intercepted a package being sent to Alaska from California which contained three kilograms of powder cocaine hidden in the back of a space heater. Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration in Anchorage delivered the package to its intended address, where it was accepted by co-defendant Rodney Epps. Epps then drove the package to a residence occupied by Hall and another co-defendant. After the package was opened, law enforcement officers entered the residence, finding Hall close to the delivered space heater. A subsequent search of the residence revealed, among other things, space heaters, hollowed out electronics, drug paraphernalia, used drug packaging, two SKS rifles, one shotgun, ammunition, and $9,000 in cash. Sentencing is set for mid-August. Pending sentencing, the court continued Hall’s detention status.
