Council Bluffs Resident Sentenced To Ten Years For Distributing Methamphetamine

JUN 26 -- (Des Moines, IA) - On June 23, 2008, United States District Judge James Gritzner sentenced 29 year old, William Donald MARTIN of Minden, Iowa to twelve and one-half years in prison followed by five years of Supervised Release for being a member of a drug distribution ring responsible distributing methamphetamine obtained from a source in Omaha, Nebraska, from January 2006 through November of 2006 to a distribution point in St. Louis, Mo. Martin was also ordered to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.

On February 11, 2008, MARTIN entered a guilty plea to Conspiring to Distribute over five hundred grams of methamphetamine. Previously sentenced to ten years in prison was 26 year old, Jody Marie BENIS, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 36 year old, Edward Rue WALKER, of Omaha, Nebraska was sentenced to eight years in prison; sentenced to seven and one-half years in prison was 46 year old, Brian Eugene FAHRENKRUG, of Oakland, Iowa; sentenced to three and one-half years in prison was 54 year old, Lorelie Dawn PORTER, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Michael Anthony SALAZAR was sentenced in Eastern District of Missouri to five years.

The investigation was conducted by the SWINE Task Force, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, and prosecuted by U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Iowa.
