Des Moines Man Sentenced On Conspiracy Charge

AUG 8 -- (DES MOINES) – On August 3, 2007, Carlos ARAGON-SANCHEZ, age 51, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced to a term of 210 months imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, announced Untied States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. Chief United States District Judge Robert W. Pratt also ordered ARAGON-SANCHEZ to serve a ten year term of supervised release following his imprisonment, and imposed a crime victim fund assessment of $100.

On April 20, 2007, ARAGON-SANCHEZ entered a plea of guilty to the conspiracy charge. At the time of his plea, ARAGON-SANCHEZ stipulated that from March 1, 2004, until January 14, 2005, he conspired to distribute in excess of 500 grams of methamphetamine in the Des Moines, Iowa metropolitan area.

This case prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
