State Department of Justice New York Division MISSION STATEMENT We are an elite vanguard of American law enforcement professionals pursuing our Nation's counter-drug agenda on behalf of the citizens we serve. We seek to protect the public from the negative consequences of drug trafficking and abuse through prioritized enforcement and regulatory actions that identify, disrupt and dismantle the most significant drug trafficking organizations in our area of operation. We effectively use all-source intelligence and the most modern technology to target, arrest and successfully prosecute those drug violators who have the most significant impact on this type of illicit and illegal traffic. We seek to deny these criminals access to the financial profits that result from this illegal activity, and to dismantle the infrastructure that would allow others to engage in this criminal enterprise. We recognize our role as an elite enforcement agency, but remain cognizant of the importance of reducing the demand for drugs of abuse and the need for us to use our expertise to educate the public. We pursue our objective with great urgency, but are committed for the long term. We are bound together in this noble endeavor by our renowned camaraderie and our unwavering commitment to succeed. Our personal and professional ethics and integrity are beyond reproach and we represent our Nation and our agencies with distinction. Our mission is extra-ordinary in nature and is transnational in scope. Our numbers are few and our challenges many, thus we recognize and value the strategic importance of cooperative relationships in law enforcement.
