Q. What are the Court's hours of operation?
A. The Immigration Court is open for business Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Q. Will the Court entertain telephonic hearings?
A. Yes, the court will consider telephonic hearings on a case by case basis provided there is an EOIR-28 on file with the Court. Telephonic hearings are generally granted for master calendars only. Attorneys are expected to appear in person for merits hearings. Telephonic hearings will take place after the in- person hearings are completed. Attorneys are advised that the Court will not give them a specific time when their cases will be taken. The Court encourages the use of written pleadings.
Q. Does the Guaynabo, Immigration Court have other jurisdictions?
A. Yes it does. They are: St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Q. How often do you schedule cases from the U.S. Virgin Islands?
A. The Immigration Court holds televideo hearings on a monthly basis in the U.S, Virgins islands.
Q. When I file my documents with the Court, can I leave the DHS' copies with you?
A. No, documents served on the Court must also be served on the DHS Trial Attorneys. However, you can deposit the Trial Attorneys copy in the drop box located in the Court's lobby or with DHS information office in the 1st floor of the San Patricio Office Building.
