Courtroom Etiquette

 

The Immigration Judges in Salt Lake City encourage all those appearing before them to familiarize themselves with the Immigration Court Practice Manual and to be prepared and ready to go forward with the case on the day of the hearing.

Please observe the following rules regarding courtroom decorum and etiquette.

1. All cell phones and pagers must be turned off before entering the courtroom.
2. No recording devices permitted in the courtroom.
3. No food or beverages permitted in the waiting area or courtroom.
4. No Smoking. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building.
5. No reading of newspapers, novels, magazines or other during court sessions.
6. Gentlemen please remove your hat when entering the courtroom.
7. Children may not be left unattended at any time.
8. Respondents are to leave the Courtroom when their case is finished being heard.
9. No more than 35 people, standing or seated in the Immigration Court Waiting Area.
10. All visitors must follow the directions of the Immigration Court security guard.
