Upon entering the York County Prison, visitors must sign in and pass through metal detectors. All personal belongings must be placed in lockers before entering the Court.

York has two courtrooms. Courtroom One is located outside the perimeter of the main prison. Children under 14 years of age will only be permitted to enter Courtroom One, and they must be accompanied by a responsible adult. York County Prison policy does not allow juveniles to pass beyond the main lobby area into the prison.
