This year's CFC theme, "Be a Star in Someone's Life!" touches on the impact that you can have on someone's life. So often, we identify with moviestars and icons, placing them high on our list of people we aspire to be like. Too often, we forget the impact we can have in our own communities.

Participating in the CFC is your chance to be a star in your community and to make a difference in someone's life!

DOJ Kicks Off CFC with Acting Attorney General Peter Keisler

The Department's 2007 Combined Federal Campaign officially began in the Great Hall on Tuesday, October 30th. A Keyworker Training Session, Charity and Pro Bono Fair, and Kickoff Rally were all held that day.

Acting Attorney General Peter D. Keisler and Acting Associate Attorney General Gregory Katzas addressed those attending the rally with words of encouragement and support. David Lipscomb, star of the official CFC video, made an appearance to encourage the efforts of the Keyworkers and autographed official CFC posters.

"Serving others over self comes easily to DOJ employees. It’s what you do every day, whether you’re an attorney, an agent, or an administrative assistant. Participating in CFC provides another opportunity to give of oneself, to invest in the betterment of our society," noted Acting Attorney General Keisler.

A CFC Charity Fair was held pre-rally and post-rally. Representatives from over 20 organizations were on hand to share literature about legal volunteerism, medical research, animal therapy, and many other causes.
