SUBJECT: 2000 Pay Adjustments
Attached for your information are the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM’s) issuances concerning 2000 pay adjustments. The attachments include: OPM's explanatory memorandum, the President’s Executive Order of December 21, 1999, non-law enforcement and law enforcement salary tables, and definitions of the 32 locality pay areas.
We have also attached the 2000 schedule for the Department’s most-used special salary rate table–the clerical special salary rate for the Washington, DC area. The remaining 2000 special salary rate tables are available on OPM’s Web site at: http://www.opm.gov/oca/payrates/index.htm. For your information, we have also attached a one-page chart showing key 2000 salary schedules for the Washington, DC area, including pay levels for the Department’s Senior Level pay system.
Key provisions of the 2000 adjustments are:
As a result of these adjustments, effective January 2, 2000, GS pay (including locality pay) in the Washington, DC area will increase by 4.94 percent.
