Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force Arrests Florida’s Top Fifteen Fugitive

San Juan, Puerto Rico - The United States Marshal Herman Wirshing announces the arrest of Guillermo COSME wanted in the state of Florida for various crimes.

Guillermo COSME, a white male, is wanted by the state of Florida for six (6) outstanding warrants for various charges varying from operating a RICO Enterprise (Racketeering Influenced Corrupted Organization) and several probation violations warrants issued by the Orange County Sheriffs Office in Florida.

Guillermo COSME who had reported to the Puerto Rico Police Department (PRPD) that his son William COSME had stolen his vehicle, prompted PRPD agents to arrest his son for the stolen vehicle. William COSME, after been arrested by PRPD agents asked who had reported the vehicle stolen and was informed that his father Guillermo COSME had done so. Immediately, William COSME told PRPD agents that his father was a federal fugitive which prompted the PR Fugitive Task Force into action.

On April 12, 2006, at approximately 10:10 P.M., agents from the PR Fugitive Task Force assisted by PRPD Stolen Vehicle Bureau and the Bayamon Special Operations Division arrested without incident one of Florida’s Top Fifteen Most Wanted Fugitive. Guillermo COSME was arrested at a local gas station in Barrio Higuillar in the city of Dorado, Puerto Rico.

COSME was charged as a FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE in local court and will await the outcome of his extradition hearing.

The Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force, a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Are (HIDTA) Initiative, comprises agents from the Puerto Rico Police Department, the Puerto Rico Corrections Department, the Puerto Rico State Marshals, the Special Investigations Bureau and United States Marshals. Since its creation this Task Force claims the arrest of more than 1,300 violent offenders.
