Last Suspect from 2004 Sex Assault on a Child Arrested in North Carolina
October 03, 2008 - Domingo Lopez-Avaloy, a 24-year-old from Honduras, was arrested early yesterday, October 2nd, at his apartment in Charlotte, NC. Domingo Lopez-Avaloy was the only one of four suspects still wanted in connection with the 2004 kidnapping and sexual assault of a 12 year old female at the Heatherwood Apartments in Aurora.

Homicide Suspect Captured in Roanoke City
October 03, 2008 - The suspect in the city’s 11th homicide of the year was captured by a dedicated team of task force officers led by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) based out of Roanoke Thursday afternoon. Deandre Miller, 20, of Roanoke was captured by a swarm of task force officers outside an apartment building in Jamestown Village on Queen Ann Drive in southeast Roanoke without incident. Miller is suspected of shooting Derrick Patrick Hobson, also 20, on September 25, 2008.

U.S. Marshals Nab "Texas Top Ten" Fugitive
October 02, 2008 - For Dusty Gus Hernandez, the chase is finally over. U.S. Marshals arrested Hernandez, one of Texas’ Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, at a house in Arlington, Texas last night. The arrest brings to close an intense manhunt that began on March 12th of this year when Hernandez fled town to avoid trial in Midland County for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Indecency with a Child.

Roanoke Murder Suspect Captured in Pennsylvania
October 02, 2008 - A woman wanted in the stabbing death of a Roanoke man was apprehended in Pittsburgh by the U.S. Marshals Service. Marcella Gail Martin, 53, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Lonnie Marsh at the American Motel on Williamson Road Northwest. Roanoke City police responded to room 8 of the hotel on December 20, 2004 and discovered Marsh’s body. Marcella Martin immediately became a suspect in his death and an arrest warrant was issued, but she fled Roanoke before she could be located.

U.S. Marshals Capture Suspected “Bank Whisperer”
October 01, 2008 - Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Ryan Garcia, 34, in Phoenix after a six hour stand-off with Police. Garcia was wanted by the U.S. Marshals for violating the conditions of his Supervised Release, after serving time in Federal prison for drug-related offenses, and is wanted for questioning regarding the bank robberies committed by the so-called Bank Whisperer, suspected of robbing numerous banks across the valley over the past month.

NWA Violent Crime Task Force Continues to Impact Northwest Arkansas with Two Major Fugitive Arrests
October 01, 2008 - U.S. Marshals and the Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force announce the arrest of Frankie Milton, 35, and Cannon Sizemore, 29. Milton was arrested in Springdale, Arkansas for absconding state supervision. Milton was convicted of murder in 1996, and sentenced to more than 20 years in state prison. Sizemore, also a probation absconder, was arrested on October 1, 2008 in Madison County. Sizemore, convicted of manslaughter in 2002 and sentenced to 9 years, was arrested after a brief scuffle and transported without further incident.

Assault Suspect Arrested
October 01, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the SCMPD K-9 unit. Shahee Gordon, 21, was being sought on warrants issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Fleeing to Elude, and Criminal Damage to Property.

U.S. Marshals Task Force Reaches Out to Virginia to Capture Youngstown Attempted Murder Suspect
September 30, 2008 - Peter J. Elliot, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, announces that the U.S. Marshals in Charlottesville, VA, apprehended Rudolph Matland III (age 27) at a residence in Stuarts Draft, VA, based on an urgent request from the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. The Youngstown Police Department wanted Matland for an incident that occurred on September 30th, where he allegedly forced his way into his estranged wife’s residence and assaulted her.

Child Found After Missing For Two Years
September 29, 2008 - In October of 2007, the U.S. Marshals Service was asked for assistance in locating and apprehending fugitives Eileen and Perry Sharp. In August of 2006, the FBI obtained an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution warrant for the Sharps based on felony warrants in the non-custodial abduction of Shanae Peterson. On Monday, September 29, 2008, positive identification was made and Perry and Eileen Sharp were arrested without incident.

Texas Fugitive, Multi-State Suspect Nabbed in Pacific Northwest
September 29, 2008 - Rodney Lee Compton, 24, a recent Pennsylvania parolee was arrested in the small hamlet of Castle Rock, Washington at the foot of Mount St. Helens. Compton was arrested without incident by U.S. Marshals, Castle Rock Police Department, and the Vancouver Police Department Career Criminal Apprehension Team. Compton, released from Pennsylvania Department of Corrections on August 10, 2008, engaged in a multi-state crime spree starting in Jasper County, Christian County Missouri, and Pittsburg, Kansas.

Alaskan Fugitive Gets Tased While Attacking U.S. Marshals During Escape Attempt
September 27, 2008 - James Joseph Bennett, a 50 year old white male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF). When officers went to arrest Bennett, he was tased while attacking U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers in his attempts to escape capture. Bennett was a fugitive out of Alaska wanted for Federal Probation Violation. His original charge was cocaine sales.

Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF) Arrests Famous New Orleans Restaurateur Murder Suspect
September 26, 2008 - On September 25, 2008, the Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Bryant Boudin in New Orleans, LA. Boudin was booked for the murder of Betsy McDaniel, owner of the popular Betsy’s Pancake House in Mid-City. He was charged with second degree murder and aggravated battery. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives allege that Boudin, 27, brutally beat McDaniel, 72, in her Marrero home on Memorial Day of this year.

Fugitive of the Week, Reginald Garrett, Cannot Escape the Watchful Eye of the Community
September 23, 2008 - Fugitive of the Week Reginald Garrett was apprehended this afternoon at approximately 12:30 PM. Thanks to an anonymous tipster, information was received on the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Taskforce hotline regarding the whereabouts of Garrett. Garrett was wanted by the North Royalton Police on larceny charges and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for receiving stolen property, and by Cleveland Police for felonious assault.

Federal Fugitive Arrested in Seattle, WA
September 20, 2008 - Larry Rich, a federal fugitive, was arrested in Seattle, WA by the Seattle Police Department. On September 19th, the night before Rich’s arrest, Eugene Police SWAT and the FBI office responded to an apartment in Eugene, Oregon. After a two and half hour stand-off an empty apartment was searched and Larry Rich was no where to be found. Rich is a convicted bank robber and was considered armed and dangerous.

U.S. Marshals Arrest Texas Fugitive in Phoenix Area
September 19, 2008 - The United States Marshals Service WANTED Task Force in Phoenix, announce the arrest of a man wanted in Texas for sexual assault charges from 1999. Charles Eugene Holybee, 61yoa, is wanted in Longview, Texas on a December, 1999 warrant alleging sex offenses with his 14 year old daughter. When Holybee became aware of pending charges, he abandoned his semi truck and trailer in Shepherd, Texas and vanished. Holybee had been a fugitive for almost 9 years.

Yuma, Arizona, Sex Offender Arrested
September 19, 2008 - Eddie Lee Cole, a fugitive wanted by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department on September 18, 2008. Cole was being sought on a warrant issued in Yuma, Arizona charging him with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Louisiana Escapee Caught in Kingsland, Georgia
September 19, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, and the Kingsland Police Department on September 18, 2008. Richard Patrick Maher - aka Stephen Hegarty - was being sought on a warrant issued in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana charging him with Escape which occurred on September 6, 2008.

Savannah Fugitive Caught
September 19, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department (SCMPD) on outstanding warrants was arrested by the Savannah U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, and SCMPD K-9 and Detectives on September 19, 2008. Dquan Ferguson was being sought on a warrant issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault.

Operation Orange Crush Nabs Thousands of Fugitives Across Florida
September 18, 2008 - Scores of fugitives – from the Panhandle to the Keys – are now behind bars courtesy of a U.S. Marshals-led sweep targeting the “worst-of-the-worst” offenders statewide. The U.S. Marshals Service, assisted by federal, state and local law enforcement across Florida, arrested 2,497 fugitives and cleared 2,943 warrants statewide as part of Operation Orange Crush. The results of this ten-week operation were announced here today by Deputy Attorney General Mark Filip, U.S. Marshals Service Director John F. Clark and U.S. Marshal Christina Pharo of the Southern District of Florida.

Man Accused of Honey Grove Shooting Arrested in Oklahoma City
September 18, 2008 - Oswald Jones was arrested as he left the apartment of a known associate in Oklahoma City. Jones was wanted in Fannin County, Texas for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The arrested was the culmination of a multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional effort lead by the United States Marshal’s Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force.

Florida Double Homicide Suspect Arrested
September 18, 2008 - A fugitive wanted by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on outstanding warrants was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Jenkins County Sheriff’s Department and the Millen Police Department in Millen, Georgia on September 17, 2008. Cedric Cutter, 27, was being sought on a warrant issued in Jacksonville, Florida charging him with Two Counts of Murder.

Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) Major Fugitive Caught
September 11, 2008 - A major fugitive wanted by the Savannah Chatham Counter Narcotics Team was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on September 11, 2008. Aubrey Rodriguez Williams, 32, was being sought on a warrants issued in Savannah, Georgia charging him with Conspiracy to Violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, Trafficking in Cocaine, and Possession of Marijuana.

Two Sex Offenders Captured in Two Days
September 11, 2008 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force would like to announce the capture of Alton S. Bazemore on September 9, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan. Bazemore had been sought by the task force since late summer 2007 for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in Lucas County, Ohio. On September 10, 2008 the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, once again with the assistance of the Detroit, Michigan United States Marshals office, apprehended Jose Hernandez. Hernandez was also wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender since July 2007.

U.S. Marshals Capture 15 Most Wanted Prison Escapee, David Lee Green
September 10, 2008 - A perfect trifecta resulted in the arrest of U.S. Marshals “15 Most Wanted” fugitive David Lee Green yesterday at a medical facility in Titusville, FL. Diligence and hard work by the U.S. Marshals from the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Orlando and U.S. Marshals in the Northern District of Ohio combined with a tip from a citizen resulted in Green’s capture after being on the run since 2000. Green was wanted for his June 19, 2000, escape from the Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton, Ohio, where he was serving a 235-month sentence for cocaine distribution.

U.S. Marshals Capture Fugitive Sex Offender
September 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals led-Child Predator Apprehension Team (CPAT) apprehended fugitive sex offender Brent Baker, 33, in Phoenix, AZ. In 1997 Baker was convicted in Maricopa County Superior Court for two counts of Molestation of a Minor and served almost eight years in the custody of the Arizona Department of Corrections. In April of this year Baker absconded from probation, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest. Baker, a level III sex offender, also failed to update his sex offender registration.

Missing Denham Springs Girl Recovered by U.S. Marshals Service
September 09, 2008 - A missing girl from Denham Springs was recovered by the U.S. Marshals Service this afternoon at a Tulsa, Oklahoma apartment complex. Jennifer O. Winter, 39, of Denham Springs was arrested by U.S. Marshals at the Windsail Apartments on a warrant issued by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for non-custodial kidnapping.

U.S. Marshals Apprehend St. Stephens Man on the Run for Four Years
September 05, 2008 - Johnnie Elvin McKelvey was taken into custody without incident yesterday in Jacksonville, FL. McKelvey, 45, is alleged to have failed to appear to begin service of a federal prison sentence in January 2004. McKelvey was convicted on a federal charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm in late 2003 and ordered to serve 180 months. He had been on the run for over four years. McKelvey’s long time girlfriend, Paula Glenn, was also arrested yesterday in Monck’s Corner. Glenn, 43, was charged in federal court with Concealing a Person from Arrest.

U.S. Marshals Apprehend International Fugitive
September 04, 2008 - Harendra Kumar Patel was arrested on Wednesday September 3, 2008 by the U.S. Marshals. Deputy Marshals advise Patel has been a fugitive from the Crown Court of Leicester, England after allegedly being charged with Fraudulent Evasion of the Duty Payable on Goods over One Million Dollars. South Carolina Marshals arrested Patel at the Blue Bay Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Convicted Child Rapist Apprehended in Ohio
September 02, 2008 - James M. Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Alfred William Cash. Cash was wanted by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Muncie, Indiana for failure to register as a sex offender. Cash, now age 50, was convicted at the age of 32 for rape of a 12 year old girl in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and has a lifetime registration obligation.

Fourth Clovis Escapee Nabbed by U.S. Marshals
August 29, 2008 - Fugitive Victor Sotelo, one of eight prisoners who escaped from the Curry County Adult Detention Center Sunday night, is back in custody. Sotelo was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force late last night at an apartment in the 1200 block of Ortiz Street in Southeast Albuquerque.

Female Fugitive Escapee From 1972 Apprehended by U.S. Marshals
August 29, 2008 - In 1972, Tamiko Smith plead to a two-year maximum incarceration in Detroit’s 36th District Court for a Non-Sufficient Funds charge. She began serving her sentence in the Detroit House of Corrections located in Plymouth Mich. Less than four months into her sentence, Smith was placed on escape status with the Michigan Department of Corrections and remained an escapee for the next 36 years until she was captured this past week by U.S. Marshals.

Task Force Captures Rape/Sodomy Suspect from NYC and Armed Robbery Suspect From Jacksonville in Pensacola
August 28, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a man wanted in New York City for allegedly raping and sodomizing his 11 and 5 year old daughters in 2005. About an hour earlier, the Task Force apprehended Bryan Wadsworth at a convenient store in Pensacola. The 23 year old Jacksonville, FL man is a suspect in an armed robbery where he and another suspect, his uncle Timothy Crosby, allegedly robbed an 84 year old man while visiting the gravesite of his deceased wife.
