National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) Employees Pledge
More than $52,000 to Local and National Charities
Johnstown, PA - On January 18, 2008, NDIC Director Michael
Walther presented a check for $52,109 to Ms. Suzanne Stevens and Mr.
William McKinney of the United Way of the Laurel Highlands (UWLH).
This check represented total contributions made by NDIC employees to
the 2007 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). A significant portion of
these monies will once again be donated to the UWLH.
Ms. Stevens and Mr. McKinney of UWLH thanked all NDIC
employees for their generosity including NDIC CFC Campaign
Coordinator Susan Bartle and NDIC CFC Key Workers (Barb Nibert, Tess
Glace, Pam Nemeth, Barb Burns, Carla Zimmer, Kathy Rushin, Tracey
Kalinowski, Lisa Arcurio, Diane Felton, Cheryl Seth, Bob Miller,
Betty Irvine, and Chuck Miller) who were instrumental in raising
funds for the CFC and the local UWLH. Employee and manager bakeoffs,
a "Steeler's" Tailgate party, and Jeans and Sneaker Days were used
to raise funds specifically for the UWLH in Johnstown.
The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of employees
in the Federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations. Each
year Federal employees and military personnel raise millions of
dollars through the CFC that benefits thousands of non-profit
charities.
