ATTORNEY GENERAL TO PARTICIPATE IN SIGNING
OF HISTORIC AGREEMENT IN CINCINNATI, OHIO

WASHINGTON, D.C. - At 10:30 a.m. on FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2002, in CINCINNATI, OHIO, the Attorney General will participate in the signing of a historic agreement to improve policing practices in Cincinnati. The agreement with the City of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Police Department (CPD) will augment its policies and procedures in the use of force, training, management, supervision, and discipline of officers to help ensure that CPD continues to minimize and deter the use of excessive force.

10:30 a.m. - Attorney General Ashcroft will participate in a news conference and the signing ceremony of the Cincinnati Police Department Agreement together with the parties to the agreement.
