Washington, D.C. – Joined by Vice President Dick Cheney, Attorney General John Ashcroft will recognize the extraordinary achievements of ten individuals with the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor in a ceremony on Friday, February 14, 2003 at 4:00 EST in Room 450 at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The event marks the first presentation of the Medal, which is the highest national award for valor by a public safety officer.
