PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH GRANTED PARDONS


WASHINGTON, D.C. - President George W. Bush granted pardons to the following six individuals on November 17, 2004:

Meredith Elizabeth Casares Kansas City, Kansas

Offense: Embezzlement of U.S. Postal Service funds; 18 U.S.C. §641.

Sentence: March 27, 1989; District of Kansas; five years probation, conditioned upon payment of $1,534.33 restitution.

Gerald Douglas Ficke Lincoln, Nebraska

Offense: Structuring currency transactions to evade reporting requirements; 31 U.S.C. §§5324(3) and 5322(a); 18 U.S.C. §2.

Sentence: March 9, 1992; District of Nebraska; three years probation with the special conditions of 700 hours of community service and a $2,500 fine.

Richard Arthur Morse Rowley, Massachusetts

Offense: Interstate transportation of a stolen motor vehicle; 18 U.S.C. §2312.

Sentence: January 28, 1963; Southern District of Mississippi; five months in jail; four years and seven months probation.

Fred Dale Pitzer Xenia, Ohio

Offense: Interstate transportation of falsely made securities; 18 U.S.C. §2314.

Sentence: April 15, 1976; Southern District of Ohio; three years imprisonment.

Cecil John Rhodes Dallas, Texas

Offense: Making a materially false statement in a loan application to a federally insured bank; 18 U.S.C. §1014.

Sentence: December 11, 1981; Northern District of Texas; six months in jail; two years and six months probation; $7,043.40 restitution.

Russell Don Sell Independence, Missouri

Offense: Aiding and abetting the making of a false statement to a credit institution; 18 U.S.C. §§1014 and 2.

Sentence: June 12, 1995; District of Kansas; three years probation; $2,006.98 restitution.
