PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH GRANTED PARDONS


WASHINGTON, D.C. - President George W. Bush granted pardons to the following eight individuals on March 3, 2005:

Alan Dale Austin Mabank, Texas

Offense:Misapplication of mortgage funds; 18 U.S.C. §657.

Sentence:October 14, 1987; Western District of Texas;

two years imprisonment and $22,000 restitution.

Charles Russell Cooper Corpus Christi, Texas

Offense:Bootlegging; 26 U.S.C. §§ 5174a, 5180a, 5606, 5632 and 5681.

Sentence:May 18, 1959; District of South Carolina;

three years probation.

Joseph Daniel Gavin East Elmhurst, New York

Offense:Failure to obey an order; drunk and disorderly in quarters; communicating a threat; disrespect to a superior commissioned officer; assault; damage to government property; resisting apprehension; Articles 89, 92, 95, 108, 128, and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Sentence:June 27, 1984; Army general court-martial at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; reduction to E-1, forfeiture of $590 pay per month for six months, and a bad conduct discharge.

Raul Marin El Paso, Texas

Offense:Failure to appear; 18 U.S.C. §3150.

Sentence:January 26, 1982; Western District of Texas; six months

imprisonment, followed by five years probation.

Ernest Rudnet Tamarac, Florida

Offense:Conspiracy to file false tax returns; 18 U.S.C. §371.

Sentence:March 16, 1992; Eastern District of New York; one year probation.

Gary L. SaltzburgClovis, New Mexico

Offense:Theft of government property; 18 U.S.C. §641.

Sentence:January 31, 1995; District of New Mexico; 18 months probation, conditioned upon the completion of 60 hours of community service.

David Lloyd St. CroixKenmare, North Dakota

Offense:Disposing of stolen explosives;

18 U.S.C. §§ 842(h) and 844(a).

Sentence:June 12, 1989; District of North Dakota; two years probation and a $500 fine.

Joseph William WarnerMcLaughlin, South Dakota

Offense:Arson on an Indian reservation; 18 U.S.C. §§81 and 1152.

Sentence:November 27, 1995; District of South Dakota; eight months imprisonment, two years supervised release, a $5,000 fine, and restitution of $5,560.
