Evening of Remembrance

U.S. Attorney Brandon J. Fremin was a guest speaker at this year’s Evening of Remembrance, which was held on April 9, 2019 at Rose Hill Baptist Church.  The event was hosted by East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid J. Gautreaux, III in partnership with the East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office and the Baton Rouge City Police.  This year’s event honored the lives of nearly 87 victims of homicide in our community. Other guest speakers also included Herbert “Tweety” Anny, Operational Services Bureau & Captain, Baton Rouge Police Department; Aishala Burgess, Executive Director of TRUCE; Lateisha Holliday, mother of Jahiem Holliday, 6 years old, who was playing outside with his siblings and neighbors when one of the other children in the group shot him; and Natalie Scott, daughter of Stefanie Vallery, 51, who died after her estranged husband broke into her home, fatally stabbing her in front of her daughter and sister.
