USAO-MDLA’s 2nd Annual Excellence In The Pursuit Of Justice Award Ceremony

USAO-MDLA hosted its 2nd Annual Excellence in the Pursuit of Justice Award Ceremony.  This ceremony recognizes state, local and federal law enforcement officers for their outstanding contributions to advancing the Department of Justice’s mission. 

Investigative Achievement Awards were presented to representatives of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and Cyber Crime Unit of the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office; Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Investigative Excellence Awards were presented to agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration; Internal Revenue Service - Criminal Investigation; and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Outstanding Collaborative Investigation Awards were presented to representatives of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Baton Rouge Police Department; East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office, CSU; Food and Drug Administration; and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Exceptional Contribution to a Federal Investigation Awards were presented to representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation; Louisiana Office of Financial Institutes; and Baton Rouge Police Department.

Heroism Awards were presented to three officers of the Gonzales Police Department for their life-saving efforts in rescuing two individuals trapped in a submerged vehicle in 2018.
