STATUTE DESCRIPTION

18 USC Section 924 (c)(1) Using, carrying, possessing, or brandishing a firearm during, in relation or in furtherance of a violent or drug trafficking offense, prosecuted in a Federal Court

18 USC Section 922(g) Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, which is defined as a person:

(1) convicted of a crime punishable by a term exceeding one year

(2) who is a fugitive from justice

(3) who is a drug addict

(4) who has been committed to a mental institution

(5) who is an alien unlawfully in the United States

(6) who has been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces

(7) who is a citizen who has renounced citizenship

(8) who is subject to a "qualified" domestic relations restraining order

(9) who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence

18 USC Section 922 (d) Providing a firearm or ammunition knowing the transferee is a prohibited person

18 USC Section 924 (a)(1)(A) Knowingly making a false statement to a licensed firearms dealer

18 USC Section 1001 or 922(m)  Failure of a licensed firearms dealer to maintain required records

18 USC Section 922 (j) Knowing possession of a stolen firearm

18 USC Section 922 (k) Possession of a firearm with an oblitereated serial number

18 USC Section 922 (o) Possession of a machine gun

18 USC Section 922 (v) Transfer of a handgun or handgun ammunition to a juvenile

18 USC Section 922 (u) Theft of a firearm from a licensed dealers inventory
