WOMBLES SENTENCED IN FEDERAL COURT

United States Attorney Maxwell Wood, Middle District of Georgia, announced that on March 15,2007 MARK WOMBLE and CHRISTIE MICHELLE WOMBLE were each
sentenced by United States District Judge Wilbur D. Owens Jr. in Macon, Georgia. Both defendants had previously pled guilty.

MARK WOMBLE was sentenced to Count One of a Superseding Indictment charging conspiracy with other individuals to possess in excess of five kilograms of cocaine with intent to distribute. He was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.

CHRISTIE MICHELLE WOMBLE was sentenced to Count One of a Superseding Information charging misprision of a felony. She was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison followed by a year of supervised release.

Two co-conspirators, Jeffery Porter and Kenyon Tyrone Ross, previously pled guilty and were sentence. Porter received 125 months to serve in federal prison. Ross received 120 months to serve in federal prison. There is no parole in the federal prison system.

The case was investigated by Monroe County Sheriffs Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Kolman.
