Ed Kubo, United States Attorney for Hawaii, announced today that LARRY ORDINADO, JR., age 25, of Honolulu, was sentenced yesterday by United States District Judge J. Michael Seabright to 12 months and one day in prison for one count of distributing 0.114 grams of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Kalihi Uka elementary school which is within the Chinatown/Kalihi Weed and Seed site. ORDINADO was one of several individuals indicted in October 2007, in separate indictments resulting from an undercover operation by the Honolulu Police Department.
Kubo said that his office “will continue to bring these cases because they show law enforcement’s continued support for the residents in this Weed and Seed area. We will always be there to assist them in standing up and prevent crime from returning to their streets.”
The case was investigated by the Honolulu Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Florence Nakakuni.
